Harare, Zimbabwe — The spirit of resistance has gripped the nation. From the capital to the rural outposts, Zimbabweans are responding in unity to the call for an indefinite national shutdown led by the M31 Movement—a powerful civil uprising aimed at ending decades of state looting, repression, and economic decay under Emmerson Mnangagwa’s regime.
On Day 2 of the stay away, General Blessed Geza, speaking on behalf of the M31 Movement, thanked the people of Zimbabwe for their bravery and discipline:
“Fellow Zimbabweans, it’s Day 2 of our indefinite stay away, and I would like to thank you once again for heeding our call. Hatisi kuzodzora tsvimbo. United, we will remove Mnangagwa from power and save the country from grand looting—the looting that has deprived you of decent lives.”
A Peaceful National Standstill
The strategy is nonviolent but deeply disruptive: a total shutdown of normal life. Schools remain closed, streets deserted, shops padlocked, and transport systems idle. The message is loud in its silence: the people are fed up.
“This stay away is for all of us,” General Geza emphasized. “So mangwana let’s continue with our stay away. Munhu wese gara kumba. Ndatenda.”
A Nation at Breaking Point
Years of corruption, state capture, and policy failure have left Zimbabwe in crisis. From fuel shortages and currency collapse to deteriorating hospitals and schools, the burden on ordinary citizens has become unbearable.
The M31 Movement has emerged as a unifying force, not tied to political party structures but grounded in the lived realities of the people. Its mission: to bring an end to a regime that has clung to power through fear, manipulation, and force.
The Power of Collective Action
In a country where dissent is often met with brutality, the shutdown offers a peaceful yet potent way for Zimbabweans to reclaim power. It is a form of resistance that denies the system its oxygen—participation.
Reports from across provinces indicate growing support. In some towns, even civil servants and ZANU-PF loyalists are quietly complying. Fear is giving way to hope. Hope is transforming into action.
No Retreat, No Compromise
The M31 Movement has made its position clear: this is not a one-day protest. It is an ongoing national shutdown, and it will continue until the people’s demands are met and Mnangagwa is removed from office.
This is not just about removing a man from power—it is about restoring dignity, justice, and opportunity for millions of Zimbabweans.
What Lies Ahead
As the stay away enters its next phase, the regime faces a test it cannot escape. Will it escalate repression or begin to listen to the will of the people? Will regional bodies intervene, or will they remain silent observers?
One thing is certain: the people of Zimbabwe have begun writing a new chapter. And General Geza and the M31 Movement are at the heart of this uprising.
The revolution will not be televised—it will be lived, felt, and won by the people.
